Negative Impact: This can also be a negative thing because it can mean that this part of the neighborhood is is very crowded.

Solutions: The MTA people can create more train stations and buses by this area to expand everyone and where they are headed.

Solutions: The government can make the vacant lot into something that can help the community connect or gather to further help the neighborhood.

  1. I agree with you solutions to stop littering, but I also think that we should all work together to maintain our community clean, not just wait for sanitation to come and clean up. We should be more organized and not throw the garbage outside like that. I also like your picture. I recommend you to add more details to your solution.

  2. I believe that the full dumpster can be a potential quality of life topic because it is local and solvable not just by the government but by the community and individuals. To better focus on this you can see how often this dumpster gets cleaned up or if the problem happens constantly.

  3. I agree with the comments all above me. This is because this dumpster didn't just get full of garbage and left their on its own many people most likely did this and as a community they should clean their own problems and work together to fix it all up. This can possibly be a potential quality of life issue because yes this does cause health problems and this is a problem the community can do on its own but what this community really does need to do is to have someone stand up and be a leader.

  4. I agree on the negative impact that this empty vacant lots have, unfortunatly many vacant lots look like this in the community of Sunset Park which is my community as well. I think a potential solution can be to have more gated areas around these parking lots to prevent homeless people or people trying to dump there trash.

  5. I agree with the negative impact on Artifact #2. Regardless of where you are, public transportation is ALWAYS crowded because people are ALWAYS in a hurry to get where they have to be. I'm pretty sure we can all relate that it is incredibly annoying. However, for possible solutions, I disagree. I do not believe that the MTA would create more stations and buses because that would require money. Our economy is bad enough and rumors have been going around that Metrocard prices are going to increase again. Therefore, the government is definitely not going to even bother if it requires money we simply do not have.

  6. I think the dumpster is a good topic because it is local and can have realistic, possible solutions. It also affects many people in the community. I also think that you can focus on how often it is emptied and taken care of.

  7. The issue of garbadge filling onto the floor can be a great local problem. It has many health effects and can be solved. You can walk around and see where this issue occurs and possibly interview the people around it.
